Java-IM (JIM)Java-IM (JIM) will be an open-source, pure-java instant messaging platform. JIM will support LDAP authentication, as well as others as plugins are developed. JIM will support only SSL/encrypted connections for message transfers. Above all else, JIM will be easy to install and configure, possibly even GUI configuration applications (web based, and stand-alone). It is hoped that users other than developers will be able to use and implement JIM. JIM is hosted by SourceForge, and its project page can be found at http://java-im.sourceforge.net. |
